Kristin Beach

Felicis Ventures

Kristin joined Felicis Ventures in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer and Partner. She leads the financial, reporting, administrative, and compliance aspects of the company and brings over 20 years of finance and operating experience to the firm.

Prior to joining Felicis, Kristin was the CFO of Playground Global LLC where she was responsible for overseeing financial operations of the studio along with the venture funds. Previously, Kristin was Vice President of Finance at Glynn Capital and at Versant Ventures. Kristin started her career as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche before joining Enterprise Fleet Management, a division of Enterprise Rent-a-Car, as Controller. She is a California CPA (inactive) and received a B.S. in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University.

Amy Berliner

Andreessen Horowitz

Amy Berliner is a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz responsible for running the finance team and reporting to the limited and general partners.

Amy has been in the venture capital industry for over 20 years. Prior to Andreessen Horowitz, she was VP of Finance at 5AM Ventures, a small healthcare fund, where she was responsible for running and maintaining the operations side of the firm. Before that she was Controller at Mobius Venture Capital, a firm that had over 2.4B under management, where she streamlined the finance function by consolidating and modernizing the software systems and building a strong finance team. Prior to entering venture capital, she worked at PwC in the venture capital practice as a tax manager.

Michael Derrick


Michael is the Chief Financial Officer for ACME, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on tech-enabled companies across a massive variety of sectors. Prior to ACME, Mike held CFO roles at Sherpa Capital, Trident Capital, Sunstone Partners and ForgePoint Capital. Mike brings over 20 years of Private Equity/Venture Capital finance experience having worked in similar roles at Thomas Weisel Partners, Trust Company of the West and Apax Partners as well as fund administration stints at Mourant Fund Services and HSBC. Mike trained with Ernest & Young in “Old” Jersey and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Manchester University.

Tony Di Bona

CFO & General Partner
Alloy Ventures

Tony Di Bona is the Chief Financial Officer and a General Partner of Alloy Ventures, as well as a founding member of the firm. Tony is in charge of all finance, accounting, and computer operations for Alloy, and assists in financial due diligence. He also assists portfolio companies with their accounting, financial reporting, and computing systems. Tony’s career in venture capital started in 1988, and co-founded Alloy Ventures in 1996. Previously, Tony served as CFO for an Australian retailer, helping the company open its U.S. operation. He received a BEc, majoring in accounting and law, at Sydney University (1982). His other interests are photography, as well as hardware and software design of embedded computer systems.

Marty Eng

CFO & VP of Administration
Western Technology Investments

Marty joined WTI in 2005 from Oracle/PeopleSoft where he was VP of Finance and VP and Corporate Treasurer. He previously held treasury and tax positions with CNF, Inc., Applied Materials, Inc. and Ernst & Young. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California at Davis, completed graduate work at the University of Southern California’s Marshall Graduate School of Business and received an MBA in taxation from Golden Gate University. He also serves on the Board of the West Coast Chapter of the Private Equity CFO Association (PECFOA) is an active member of the National Venture Capital Association’s CFO Task Force . He is a California CPA (inactive).

Todd Forrest

Garnet Kelly LLC 

Todd Forrest most recently joined Nokia Growth Partners in 2015, after three years with JH Partners as CFO & COO. Todd spent ten years at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, a venture capital firm with $1 billion under management, as a Managing Director & CFO. Mr. Forrest played a key role in the structuring and negotiation of Hummer Winblad’s investments. Mr. Forrest was also responsible for Hummer Winblad’s financial, legal and operational matters and investor relations. Prior to joining Hummer Winblad, Mr. Forrest was the Vice President - Finance & Administration at Critical Path, Inc., a publicly traded software company, and a member of its Executive Staff. Mr. Forrest worked closely with the corporate and business development teams in structuring multiple acquisitions and key partnership agreements. Mr. Forrest oversaw worldwide financial planning, tax strategy, accounting, reporting, management information systems, treasury, and facilities. Prior to Critical Path, Mr. Forrest was an audit manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he delivered advisory services to multi-national public and private companies primarily in the technology, telecommunications, and financial services industries. Mr. Forrest is a founding Board member of the Northern California chapters of the Financial Executives Alliance and Private Equity CFO Organization. Mr. Forrest is a CPA and received a B.S. in Accountancy from Bentley University.

Robert May

Industry Ventures

Robert is a Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Industry Ventures. Prior to joining Industry Ventures, Robert worked as a Consultant for Standish Management and led the Palo Alto office. Robert has over 25 years of experience in Finance, Operations and Management with 17 of those years specifically in Venture Capital. Previously, Robert was the COO and CFO for Founders Fund in San Francisco, CA. Prior to Founders Fund, Robert spent four years as the CFO of Thomas Weisel Venture Partners. Robert started his career in Venture Capital as the Controller for Mohr, Davidow Ventures. Robert was also a Senior Financial Analyst at Hewlett-Packard and Production Control Analyst at Drexler Technologies.

Kevin Melia

Storm Ventures

As the CFO of Storm Ventures, Kevin has led the finance and administration functions for the past 13 years. He originally joined Storm Ventures in 2002 as a junior member of the investment team and worked with several successful Storm portfolio companies. Prior to joining the venture industry, Kevin was a management consultant with the Mitchell Madison Group.

Kevin earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University. Kevin mentors entrepreneurs with MIT’s Venture Mentoring Service and serves as a board member and CFO of the Los Altos Educational Foundation.

Michele Shahroody

VP of Finance
Golden Gate Capital

Michele Shahroody is the VP of Finance at Golden Gate Capital. Prior to joining Golden Gate Capital, Michele was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers,LLP where she advised clients on tax matters associated with transactions and financial and tax reporting. Michele holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Davis, a Masters in Taxation degree from George Washington University, and is a California CPA.

Scott Sweet

Lombard Investments, Inc.

Scott is a Managing Director and the CFO of Lombard Investments, an international private equity firm based in San Francisco. Scott has overall responsibility for accounting, financial controls and the administration of Lombard’s operations. He has been involved in the tax, financial and accounting due diligence for many of Lombard’s investments and has served on the investment committees of a number of Lombard funds during his tenure at the firm. Prior to joining Lombard in 1988, Scott worked as an audit manager at Deloitte & Touche, providing audit and litigation support services to companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Sweet received a BS from Cornell University, an MBA from UCLA, and is a CPA (inactive).
