Tricia Brock

VP Finance and Administration
Excel Venture Management

Ms. Brock is the Vice President of Finance and Administration for Excel Venture Management bringing with her 10 years of private equity experience. In this capacity she oversees the operational, financial and administrative aspects of the firm including financial reporting, human resources, facilities and investor relations. Prior to Excel Venture, Tricia was Director of Finance and Administration for CB Health Ventures (CBHV) where she worked in a similar capacity managing venture funds with $150 million of capital under management. Prior to CBHV, she was a Manager in the Global Income Unit at State Street Corporation where she managed daily operations and client service for clients in the Asia Pacific region. Ms. Moriarty has a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University where she graduated with honors.

Michael Dale

Managing Director & CFO
Eastward Capital Partners, LLC

Michael joined Eastward in 2004 and currently holds the position of Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Eastward, Michael was Chief Financial Officer at Great Hill Equity Partners, a $1 billion private equity firm focused on information technology. At Great Hill, Michael also acted as the initial CFO and Treasurer for several portfolio companies during their initial stages. Previous to Great Hill, Michael worked as a director of operations at TS Design, an internet consulting firm, which was later sold to Razorfish. Michael is a founding board member of the Private Equity CFO Association. Michael also founded the Hedge Fund CFO Association and graduated from Babson College with a BS in Finance.

Joe DeFilippi

Founder Collective

Joe DeFilippi is the Chief Financial Officer at Founder Collective. He is responsible for all non-investing activities for the firm, including finance, operations, human resources, compliance, legal and technology. Prior to joining Founder Collective in 2015, Joe was the Director of Financial Operations at CRV, an early-stage technology-focused venture fund where he oversaw finance and operations for the funds and worked on special projects. Prior to CRV, he worked in accounting at Eastward Capital Partners.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bentley University, and his MBA with High Honors from Boston University.

April E. Evans

Monitor Clipper Partners, LLC

April is Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Monitor Clipper Partners, a $2 billion private equity firm. Previously, Ms. Evans was Partner and CFO of Advanced Technology Ventures, a $1.5 billion venture capital firm. Prior to that, Ms. Evans was a Founding Partner with the accounting firm Squillace & Evans. Ms. Evans has also held senior finance and operations positions with Falcon Partners Management, BBK, Harvard Student Agencies, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and in the Harvard Medical School teaching hospital system.  Ms. Evans, a certified public accountant, received her M.B.A. with honors from Simmons College, two masters degrees with honors from Boston University, and her B.A. cum laude from Duke University. Ms. Evans is currently a member of the Business Advisory Council for the Simmons College Graduate School of Management and a member of the Board of Directors for the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity. She has also been active with the Kauffman Fellows Program of the Center for Venture Education, has served on the Advisory Committee to the Center for Women and Enterprise Venture Center and the Emerging CEOs Steering Committee of The Commonwealth Institute, been a director of the Private Equity CFO Association, and has been an Assistant Professor at the Simmons College Graduate School of Management. Ms. Evans is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.

Andy Flaster

Managing Partner & COO

Andy is a Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer at Volition Capital. Andy is responsible for all non-investment related aspects of Volition including finance, investor reporting, legal, human resources, compliance and technology. In addition, Andy is an active participant in Volition’s investments including assisting in the structuring of investments and in portfolio management. Andy currently serves on the boards of Black Duck Software and Cortera. Prior to being a founding partner at Volition Capital, Andy was a Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Fidelity Ventures. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Finance for Thomas H. Lee Company, a private equity firm specializing in management growth buyouts.  Andy received an MS in Finance from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management and has a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Josh Franklin

Crystal Financial LLC

Josh is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Crystal Financial LLC. Josh joined Crystal at its inception in 2006 and oversees finance, compliance, IT, investor relations, human resources, and capital planning. Josh is also is a member of the General Partner of Crystal SBIC LP, a related SBIC fund, and sits on its investment committee. Prior to joining Crystal, Josh spent 6 years at Citizens Capital underwriting new junior debt and equity transactions. Josh received a BA in Economics from Towson University and an MBA from Babson College. In addition to serving on the Financial Executive Alliance Board, Josh sits on the board of The Mass Mentoring Partnership, a local non-profit that works with mentoring and youth development programs across the state of Massachusetts.


Matt Hurley

Matt joined Falcon Investment Advisors, LLC at its inception in 2000 and currently holds the position of Partner & Chief Financial Officer.Prior to joining Falcon, Mr. Hurley spent 13 years with John Hancock Financial Services, Inc. where he had most recently served as Controller of Hancock Mezzanine Partners, LP. Mr. Hurley received a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant (College) University. In addition to serving on the Financial Executive Alliance Board, Mr. Hurley is also a member of the Private Equity CFO Association and a member of the Treasurer’s Club of Boston.

Richard Joseph

Mr. Joseph joined Audax Group in 1999. Previously, Mr. Joseph was the Chief Financial Officer of, a publicly traded Internet service company. Mr. Joseph was also CFO of Software Emancipation Technology, Planet Direct, ESSENSE Systems and was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young in their Transaction Support Group.Mr. Joseph received a B.S. in Accounting and Management from Boston College School of Management. He is a C.P.A.

Ed Keefe

Mr. Keefe is responsible for the oversight of the finance and administration activities, information technology and financial reporting to the Limited Partners. Prior to joining M/C, Mr. Keefe was Vice President of Finance at Atlas Venture, which is a leading international early-stage venture capital firm, investing in communications, information technology and life sciences companies. Previously, Mr. Keefe also served as Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Instrumentation Laboratory, Tax Consultant at Coopers and Lybrand and as a Senior Financial Analyst at Raytheon Company.  Mr. Keefe serves on the Board of Directors for The Bostonian Society, Financial Executives International (Chair of the Professional Development Committee) and the Dean's Advisory Board at The University of Maine Business School. Mr. Keefe is the former President of the Treasurers' Club of Boston.Mr. Keefe received a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from The University of Maine, an MBA from Suffolk University and a MS in Taxation from Bentley University.

Kristen Laguerre

Kristen is Executive Partner, Finance for MPM Capital, responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of MPM’s finance activities. She also serves as CFO of Cullinan Oncology, a portfolio company of MPM’s oncology-only crossover investment strategy.

With more than 15 years of financial leadership and management experience in the venture industry, Kristen was previously Partner and CFO at Flare Capital Partners, where she led finance, operations and administration. Prior to this role, she was Partner and CFO at Atlas Venture, an early-stage healthcare and technology venture capital firm. She was also Vice President – Finance at SoftBank Capital, where she was responsible for finance, human resources and operations associated with SoftBank’s venture funds and its global activities outside of East Asia. Earlier in her career, Kristen was with Arthur Andersen LLP. Widely recognized in the industry, Kristen is a steering committee member for Women in Alternative Assets and served as a board member of the Private Equity CFO Association.

Kristen earned her M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Boston University and her B.A. in Economics from Wesleyan University.

Terry Olson

THL Credit, Inc

Mr. Olson is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of THL Credit, Inc. (Nasdaq: TCRD). Prior to joining THL Credit in 2008, he spent ten years at Highland Capital Partners (“Highland”), a venture capital firm, where he served as Director of Finance and was responsible for the financial, tax and operational matters for Highland’s funds as well global activities in Europe and China. Before joining Highland, Mr. Olson was a Senior Manager at the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he worked with public and private companies in the financial services and technology sectors. Mr. Olson holds a BS in accounting from Boston College.
